And I did not speak out

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

First they came for the Muslims
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Muslim

Then they came for the asylum seekers
And I did not speak out
Because I was not an asylum seeker

Then they came for the children
And I did not speak out
Because we have dehumanized mankind

How many deaths will it take this time?
Because the first poem is about the holocaust
And we, all, are letting it happen again

Why aren't children in cages
On the first page
Of every newspaper in America all days?

Why aren't the bots and trolls
Transmitting this message
So we can love
